Your Club Needs You!

Not Over selling!
This week, we have a monster of a write up from Pete Bennett of the Belfast Gran Fondo designed to welcome the Giro d’Italia to strange new lands.  Find out what happens when you take the boy out of Singapore but can’t take Singapore out of the boy.  Don’t miss it!  We also have a more comprehensive Tour of Friendship write up from Don, he gets all loquacious when he doesn’t have to write from his bike, and results from the Busselton 70.3 thanks to Martin.

Do you have what it takes?

Club Elections
Has a year passed already I hear you ask, is it time to start looking for Turkey in Cold Storage, I know time passes quickly here without the seasons to mark it’s progress, but surely it can’t be 12 months.

Stay calm, there are more than 21 shopping days to Christmas, but with the planned departure of a  number of the cycling committee from the Singapore shores, there will be an EGM on June 12th.  If you are a paid up member, you should have received an email from our club secretary explaining what is going on.

As always with our committee elections, all positions will be re-elected, so if you think you have the time and the motivation to keep the club great then either get a club mate to nominate you or you can even nominate yourself.  The club secretary has all the details cyclingsecretary@anza.org.sg

So if you have ideas on some things you would like the club to do, whether it’s more overseas and weekend rides, more social events, training or development strategies covering juniors, or beginners, or first time Gran Fondo riders.  I’m sure there are a wealth of ideas either original or brought from other clubs you have been members of.

The key of course is that you are willing to commit to it.  bring your ideas, and be willing to make them happen.  So with that, just some short blurb on each of the positions (blatantly stolen and slightly shortened from the constitution), and then I’ll leave you alone to enjoy the great write up from Pete.
